Marine Corps Base Hawaii (MCBH), is a U.S. Marine Corps base and air station located in Windward Oahu and is home to Marines, sailors and their families.

The base is home for the 3rd Marine Regiment, Marine Aircraft Group 24, Combat Logistics Battalion 3, 3rd Radio Battalion, and the Navy's Patrol and Reconnaissance Wing 2.

Previously known as Marine Corps Air Station Kaneohe Bay and Naval Air Station Kaneohe Bay, the U.S. Marines operate a 7,800-foot runway at the base.

Nearby civilian off base housing includes the neighborhoods of Kailua and Kaneohe.

According to the Hawaii Chamber of Commerce:

Annual defense expenditures account for generating $12.2 billion into Hawaii's economy annually.  Defense procurement contracts awarded to Hawaii businesses more than doubled from $1.0 billion in the mid-1990s to $2.3 billion in 2009."
