About Marine Corps Logistics Base Barstow

There is a lot more to Barstow, California than meets the eye. It is the home of Marine Corps Logistics Base Barstow, and even though the name may not be familiar, the background could be, having been featured in such films as Brockovich, Kill Bill Volume 2 and Courage Under Fire just to name a few.

Though we may be familiar with what this city looks like, over 20,000 people call it home because of its unique history, economy and area lifestyle. Barstow was first established as a settlement almost 200 years ago and has been growing ever since, in large part thanks to it being the strongest transportation center for the Riverside-San Bernardino area.

Daytime or nightlife, Barstow has something for every age. Barstow is home to one of the last drive-in movie theatres in San Bernandino County, so don't forget the popcorn!  If you want to learn more about Barstow's rich history, look no further than some of the unique museums to the area such as the Route 66 Mother Road Museum and the Western America Railroad Museum.
