About Farmington

Farmington, the seat of Davis County, is about halfway between Hill Air Force Base and Salt Lake City. It occupies a narrow strip of land tucked snugly against the base of the Wasatch Mountains. The community is a place renowned for its beautiful tree lined streets, visual charm and history as solid as the stone used to build many of its pioneer homes. The five canyons above Farmington have streams that flow through the city and eventually into the Great Salt Lake. In Farmington Canyon you will find opportunities for hiking, biking, jogging, picnicking, jogging, horseback riding, camping and fishing. There are also horse racing and rodeo facilities at the Davis County Fairgrounds located in West Farmington. Lagoon, the State’s largest family amusement park is also located in Farmington. Farmington continues its tradition as the greatest place to live, work and play. The much anticipated Farmington Gym opened its initial phase of this first class sports park on July 5, 2016. The facility includes indoor and outdoor basketball, volleyball, pickle ball, softball, baseball, soccer and an indoor running track. Earlier in 2016, there was a ground breaking for the new State of the Art High School which will be open the Fall of 2018. The high school is expected to hold 2,000 10-12 grade students. Station Park, the regions premier shopping center, gathering place and future business center, is located in Farmington at the Intersection of I-15, Highway 89, Legacy Parkway and the Front Runner Commuter Train. This beautiful gathering place includes upscale retail, dining and entertainment, featuring a park, children’s play area, outdoor winter skating rink and a world-class show fountain. Farmington holds firm to the city motto “Historic Beginnings” in reference to the pioneer spirit that settled the area and that same pioneer spirit exists today.
