Bryan is a twin city directly adjacent to College Station, Texas and approximately 100 miles Northwest of the Houston metropolitan area. Bryan Texas was founded in the mid-1860s as a retail center and a railroad shipping town to service the cattle and cotton business. Bryan also includes the Traditions Golf Course community and the Texas A&M University Health Science Center. The second largest employment base in Bryan is medical services. The primary medical care provider in Bryan is St. Joseph Regional Hospital. St Joseph's Regional Hospital provides a full portfolio of medical service from basic health care to advanced health care needs such as a Tier Two trauma center as well as heart surgery and orthopedic surgery care. In addition, the Physician's Center provides an extensive array of day surgery and out-patient medical options.
