Declared by Congress in 1999, Military Appreciation Month is an important tradition where we observe and raise awareness during the month of May to celebrate and give tribute to military service members and their families. Here is a calendar of each of those days:
Loyalty Day is a day of affirmation for our loyalty to the Unites States, and the heritage of our American freedom.
May 6 - 12
Public Service Recognition Week honors the employees of the federal, state, and local goverments.
Victory in Europe Day is the day the German's surrendered to the Allies and marked the end of World War II in Europe.
Military Spouse Appreciation Day honors military spouses and recognizes the important role that military families play in supporting our Armed Forces.
Armed Forces Day is a day of celebration and thanks for those who have served or are serving in the U.S. Military branches: Air Force, Army, Coast Guard, Marines, and the Navy. There are lots of activities planned this week in honor of their sacrafice for our country.
Memorial Day is a day of remembrance for the men and women who died while in military service.
